  • Parents and Carers RSE Workshop

    Wed 26 Jun 2019

    Dear parents and carers,

We would like to invite all parents and carers to the next parent’s mornings on Friday 28th June @ 10.00 – 12.00. This session will be led by Cheryl Steele – Relationships & Sex Education Lead.

This workshop has been designed in response to parents and carers feedback around requests for opportunities to discuss, explore and tackle issues relating to appropriate behaviours, inappropriate touch and puberty. We understand that some issues may be extremely sensitive therefore, the session will be delivered in 2 parts:

    • Firstly, a presentation to ensure a shared understanding of the PSHE, RSE and ESafety programme that the school delivers to meet the needs of our pupils

    • After coffee we will working in small groups to discuss more sensitive issues relevant to your child’s needs, for example ways for supporting them when out in the community. We will also be exploring the types of resources available to support this

This session will be appropriate for parents and carers of pupils across the school.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this workshop. Please could you complete the reply form attached, just so we have an idea of how many people to expect.

    Yours sincerely

    Cheryl Steele (Headteacher)

  • Rosehill Joins the Nottingham Schools Trust (NST)

    Mon 03 Jun 2019

    Dear Parents / Carers,

On behalf of the Governing Body, I am writing to inform you of an exciting development for Rosehill School.  In Nottingham, many primary schools have joined forces to establish the Nottingham Schools Trust (NST) – a collaborative partnership focusing on improving education for the children of Nottingham and Rosehill is now part of this collective organisation.

In a time of rapidly evolving government policy, maintained schools and standalone academies in Nottingham have come together to create a collaborative solution for themselves. The trust offers a unique opportunity to bring together all types of schools and to provide sustainable school-to-school support to all of the member schools, taking full advantage of the breadth and expertise that already exist in our member schools.

As a new member of NST, Rosehill is still a school maintained by the local authority, and not an academy, but is now able to benefit from working hand-in-hand with other local schools to improve our practice, ensure best possible value for money and to share our strengths and expertise with others.

Further information can be found at http://www.nottinghamschoolstrust.org.uk/

I will of course keep you all updated, through my newsletters, about any further developments but myself or governors can always answer any questions if required.

    Kind regards

    Cheryl Steele
