  • New Sensory Room at John Caroll Leisure Centre

    Tue 08 Dec 2015

SENSORY ROOM AT JOHN CARROLL LEISURE CENTRE

Brand new sensory room will open its doors this week at John Carroll Leisure Centre, following the closure of Beechdale Swimming Centre in September.

Having closed earlier this year, Beechdale Swimming Centre has provided leisure facilities to families across Nottingham for many years. Since the closure, Sport and Leisure department at Nottingham City Council have looked to relocate some of those facilities, including soft play centre and sensory room.  A brand new sensory room has now been relocated to John Carroll Leisure Centre in Radford and will open to the public from Monday 30th November.

The new sensory room will have a maximum capacity of sixteen people and will be ideal for toddlers as well as for children with sensory processing disorders.

Customers will be able to access specific sessions which run alongside of current children’s sessions such as Notts Gym Tots. In addition to those, there are also a wide range of sessions throughout the day.

As part of further developments, soft play area is being relocated to Clifton Leisure Centre and will open to the public early January.

Cllr Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture says: “These developments are ideal to entertain kids and keep them active. They can learn new skills whilst making new friends in a fun and save environment”

Nottingham City Council Leisure Centres offer various memberships that cater to all age groups. Having invested in those developments, customers will have a wider range of facilities to choose from as part of their membership.

Full details of all facilities, membership and session times for all the City Council’s Leisure Centres can be found at:
