  • Vernon Coaker Visit 8th March 2019

    Fri 15 Mar 2019

We were privileged to be visited by our local MP Vernon Coaker on Friday 8th March,

He handed out our weekly Gold Award, Attendance Cerfiticates to our Primary Children and was served by out young adults who help run the Rosehill Café.

He posted the following on Facebook:

I attended Rosehill School which is an Outstanding special School, in Nottingham City, for children and young people aged 4 – 19 years with autism and associated learning needs.

During my visit I was shown the wonderful achievements and exciting opportunities that pupils access on a daily basis as part of the holistic curriculum the school offers.
I enjoyed meeting pupils, staff and parents across the school and in the school café, which has been set up as part of the schools ongoing commitment towards developing work related learning opportunities.
Whilst there, I presented pupils from the Primary and Middle School with awards in celebration of their attendance and achievements.
What a fantastic morning – well done Rosehill School

  • Brighter Beginnings - East Midlands

    Thu 07 Mar 2019

    Brighter Beginnings, East Midlands
Getting the best outcomes for your special needs child

Are you the parent of a special needs child aged 0-8? Do you some-times feel frustrated that you cannot get the support you need for your child, or wonder how you will cope with the challenges ahead?

Support is available in East Midlands with a series of FREE workshops for parents of special needs children. The workshops are designed to help parents make sure they can get the best possible outcomes for their child.

Parents attending the workshops will find out where they can get in-formation and support, they will learn how to prepare for meetings about their child with health or education professionals, and they will be helped to feel more confident about making decisions for their child.
As children move into nursery and infant schools, parents will want to make sure their child has the support they need to reach their full potential. The workshops will explain the system of special needs support in school.

The workshops are being organised by Contact, a charity supporting families of disabled and special needs children and are supported by the Department for Education. They will be held at St Peter’s Church Centre, at 10 St Peter’s Churchyard, City Centre, Derby, DE 1 1NN, on four consecutive Thursday mornings starting from February 28 until March 21. Each session will cover a different topic area and will run from 10am to 12pm.

  • World Book Day 6th March 2019

    Tue 05 Mar 2019

    Dear Parents/Carers,

This year we will be celebrating World Book Day on Wednesday 6th March (hopefully, no snow this time to change our plans!)

World Book Day has become at Rosehill an annual event everyone loves and waits for. As in previous years, children will take part in various book and story related activities and competitions.

It would be great if your child could come to school dressed up as a book character to celebrate this special day! Most staff come to school dressed up as book characters too!

All children are receiving their £1 token with this letter. These tokens can be redeemed against the cost of World Book Day book or any book or audio book worth £2.99 or more. The World Book Day book tokens are valid from Thursday 28 February to Sunday 31st March 2019.

For more information about book tokens, see http://worldbookday.com/books/.

Thank you for all your support.
