Adverse Weather (Snow) Information 26th February 2018
Mon 26 Feb 2018In the event of school closure due to snow
It is very rare that school is closed due to snow or other adverse weather conditions but in this unlikely event, Rosehill School has put procedures in place to help keep parents and carers well informed.
In the event that school is closed, the relevant details will go directly to the Nottingham City Council. We also put the information onto:
- The school website www.therosehillschool.com
- Local radio will also pick up the news from our system – BBC Radio Nottingham
We also aim to use our text message system (school comms) which most parents and carers are signed up to. This provides you with a text message informing you about the situation.
We do appreciate that parents and carers need information as quickly as possible and we will do our very best to ensure that this happens. However, could I politely remind everyone that it will not be possible to contact the school office for information if school is closed.
Please assume that school is OPEN unless you hear otherwise from one of the official sources detailed above.
Many thanks to everyone for your ongoing support.
Kind regards
C Steele

Ofsted Celebration Event
Fri 16 Feb 2018We had a fantastic day on Friday 16th February where the entire school took part in Circus activities and children from across the school had lots of fun, celebrating our Outstanding Ofsted result (Nov 2017). The day consisted of Theatre Workshops, Circus activities, balloon and mask making and many other exciting opportunities. There was a great sense of pride by staff and we were even joined by the Evening Post. Photographs can be found by following this link
Thank you to our children and staff for making the day possible - I am very proud of everyone!

World Book Day 1st March 2018
Tue 13 Feb 2018On Thursday 1st of March, children and staff at Rosehill will celebrate World Book Day. Children will explore a wide range of activities: they will engage with “The dragon machine” story following a range of book related activities such as music, drama, arts and crafts and dragon machine making. They will follow dragon trail around school and will have access to library sessions to explore a variety of books and sensory stories.
There will be dressing up competitions and department based activities.
World Book Day is annual event which has been widely celebrated since 2014 and is very popular among staff and pupils.
The feedback from previous years has been always very positive, e.g. “What a fabulous day! The children had such a wonderful time enjoying the exciting reading activities and sensory experiences in the hall. Well done everyone, for another successful event.”
“It was a special day for all of us and it helped staff to inspire children’s love to reading and stories. It was great to see children engaged, well behaved, reciting the stories and exploring sensory props”.
The letter about World Book Day will be sent to parents after half-term.
