  • School Attendance Updates

    Pupil attendance and leave of absence 2017

    What we have been doing to improve and sustain the best outcomes for our learners this year

    During the last year staff have worked relentlessly with parents, carers and extended services to ensure that we promoting and communicating the importance of good attendance at school. Action has included;

    - Reviewing and updating our Pupil Attendance Policy

    - Providing letters to parents and carers to fully explain the importance of good attendance and the impact of poor attendance on pupils

    - Updating our school website to ensure we consistently communicate the importance of this issues

    - Provided individualised parents meetings to ensure the relevant services are supporting families well

    - Held parents discussions (as part of parents mornings and school events) to raise the profile of attendance and to provide ongoing opportunities for discussing this issue

    - Ensured that we have created action plans with parents and relevant services where attendance decreases or does not improve

    - Reported ongoing development and outcomes to the school Governors and the local authority

    - Held multi agency meetings with health teams and social care to explore how all services to can support pupils with additional needs e.g. health concerns

  • Our 'All Together' Anti-Bullying Project has commenced

    Rosehill School are taking part in an important Project called ‘All Together' 2017 – 2018 where our pupils are campaigning to support Anti Bullying both locally and nationally. As an 'All Together School' we will be building upon the work of the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s anti-bullying champion programme which saw significant positive results. The programme includes a special focus on reducing bullying of disabled children and those with SEN but aims to reduce bullying of all children and young people.   • SRE Charter

    At our school we believe that the provision of good quality SRE is essential for our pupils. The SRE we provide safeguards our pupils by allowing them to explore what a safe and healthy relationship is, giving them information on appropriate support services, and enabling them to make positive and informed choices about their bodies, sexual health and relationships as they move into adulthood.
