Work Experience
Thu 06 Oct 2016Work Experience
Over the last year Rosehill have introduced opportunities for 17 - 19 year old pupils to have the opportunity to take part in Work experience and Taster Days within the local community. This has proved to be very successful with our group of Year 13 and 14 leavers last year. This year we are hoping to do the same to encourage companies to think differently and help us to show what type of things we can do. Last year one of our pupils managed to work with Vernon Coaker (Gedling MP) within his office undertaking Admin work and updating his website. Another pupil did work experience at BBC Weather Studio and turned out he even gave Charlie Slater a run for his money, he was so good. Two of our pupils managed to do 12 week’s work experience with Sainsbury’s and St Ann’s Library using the systematic approach to work which worked extremely well. We had another pupil doing work experience at Pets R Us at Netherfield, which he really enjoyed. We also had Taster Days in Lloyds Bank and this year we are hoping to do even better so watch this space. We hoping by moving forward we can encourage companies parents and pupils to think differently about the future. A Big Thank You to Sainsbury’s (Graham Dandie), Pets r Us (Joanne Green), St Ann’s Library (Josh), Lloyds Bank (David Brookes), BBC Weather Studio (Charlie Slater) and Vernon Coakers Office Team, and all the staff involved you have made this experience a very positive one. See you Soon.
