RSE Day 2022 'Celebrating Differences – Everyone Can Sparkle'

What is RSE Day?

RSE Day is a day to celebrate great Relationships and Sex Education in schools and other settings. RSE Day takes place on the last Thursday in June each year, this year it will be held on Thursday 30 June. RSE Day began in Nottingham in June 2018 and continues to be run by Nottingham City Council.

How will we celebrate this year?

This year for RSE Day we will be creating a welcoming community space using children’s art-work as part of the ‘Celebrating Differences – Everyone Can Sparkle’ theme.

This could be a reception area, a pathway, on fencing, etc.  Jo Ritchie, RSE lead and Sarah Bailey, Art Lead, will attend training on the 23rd May with the artist Rachel Scanlon to understand how we can develop our space.  The aim is that we will then take the new skills back to the team and create some wonderful art-work that can be displayed on RSE Day.  The process of creating the art work will link directly to outcomes in the statutory RSHE framework.

We will have visitors come to our school on RSE day to celebrate our art with us!

A National assembly will be run by discovery Education Health and Relationships and will start at 9am. Assemblies will also be held at 11.30 and 2.15
