  • World Book Day

    Thu 22 Feb 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,

This year we are celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7nd March. The theme we have chosen this year is "Art and Artists story books" which is linked to our curriculum “Take one picture” topic this term. Like every year, the day will be great fun and will be filled with stories, book hunts and immersive experiences.

To help us celebrate World Book Day, we would like as many children and staff as possible to come dressed as their favourite character from a book.

Attached to this letter is a £1 book token, which your child can use to get one of the brilliant reads for free https://www.worldbookday.com/books-and-tokens/books/ between 15 February and 31 March 2024.

We’re very much looking forward to celebrating World Book Day, which could not

happen without the support of parents and carers - thank you for your continued support.

    Best wishes,

    Tamara Riddell

    Acting Deputy Headteacher

  • Children’s Mental Health Week 2024

    Thu 08 Feb 2024

    Dear Parents/ Carers,

On the 8th of February we will be taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week 2024 focusing on ‘Self-love’ and ‘My Voice Matters.’

My Voice Matters is about empowering children and young people by providing them with the tools they need to express themselves. When we feel empowered, there’s a positive impact on our wellbeing. Children who feel that their voices are heard and can make a difference have a greater sense of community and self-esteem.

Pupils will be able to take part in a range of ‘Self-love’ activities throughout the day including our Valentines Disco and café. To really help them to feel extra special on the day it would be lovely for your child to come to school in their favourite outfit, best party clothes or just something red. We will be encouraging pupils to recognise their qualities through positive affirmation activities.

To find out more about supporting your child’s mental health and wellbeing please visit the school website where there are lots of useful links. You may also wish to visit the Now and Beyond website as the charity will be hosting a mental health festival with various live videos throughout the day. Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you feel you need support regarding the wellbeing of yourself or child, we will be happy to provide a listening ear and signpost you to some of the support available.

We look forward to a lovely last day with the pupils.

    Kindest regards,

    The Wellbeing Champions

  • Safer Internet Day 5.2.2024

Mon 05 Feb 2024 Computing Lead

    Dear all,

The theme for E-Safety day this year is ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online.

Across the school pupils will be taking part in activities based around thinking about changes online, including looking at technology over the years and how smaller changes happen online every day and how we can stay safe online.

For E-Safety day, all classes will be involved in learning about how technology and the internet changes over time. They will explore how changes make them feel, who they can talk to in a range of scenarios and how they can keep themselves safe online.

Classes will also create a piece of work to display in school that reflects how technology and the internet changes and how different online activities make them feel. This will be informative to tell others what they need to do if they feel unhappy about something online.

Every year Rosehill takes part in this important topic, and during the year we continue to learn to stay safe online. For further information regarding our E-Safety curriculum please click here.

  • Use of vehicle gates

    Fri 02 Feb 2024

    Dear parents/carers,

We would like to remind all who enter the school, please do not use the large vehicle entrance if you are on foot. This is because it poses significant health and safety risks. Instead, could you please utilise the pedestrian gate to the right of the zebra crossings outside of the school. This is of utmost importance as your safety is always a priority to us. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.

    Kind regards,

    Rosehill School

    Dear parents/ carers/ pupils,

Thank you to everyone who attended parents evening today. This event was very successful with over 40% of families attending.

Parents' feedback was very positive: “staff were extremely accommodating”, “so proud with the progress that X has made”, “so excited to see my child's progress”!

Everyone loved the Dinosaur exhibition, which was very popular and well attended.

Thank you also to all the staff for their input and support.

We look forward to seeing you at future events. Please check out our school calendar and news section.
