COVID19 Update for Parents 5.1.2021
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time.
In light of recent announcements relating to schools remaining open and the increased prevalence and transmissibility of Covid-19, today we have reviewed the school’s risk assessment.
Recent announcements by the government regarding schools has made it very difficult to plan for the return of children. Last night’s further announcement of a lock-down has made planning even more difficult. As you would expect, our prime concern is to ensure pupils and staff are as safe as we can make them.
As I write this letter, I know that I will not have a full complement of staff because of self-isolation, shielding and other knock-on effects of the lockdown. To ensure safety I have had to make the decision, that sadly, all children will not be able to attend as normal at present.
After consulting senior colleagues and the Chair of Governors, and reviewing our health and safety risk assessment we will need to re-introduce a reduced timetable for pupils.
We will be keeping a close eye on both local and national guidance and reviewing provision on a daily basis, and parents/carers will be informed as and when the situation changes.
I am sorry that the school is having to operate in this way and hope you will appreciate that it is for the safety of all. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support.
