Accredited Learning and Qualifications 

Key Stage 4 

We do not currently deliver GCSE courses to our KS4 students.  GCSE courses will be in place when appropriate and this is reviewed annually.

Key Stage 5 

In the academic year 2024/25 Key stage 5 pupils are working towards the following qualifications: 

AIM Qualifications: Suite of Personal and Social Development Skills Qualifications

AIM Qualifications Level 1 Certificate in Personal and Social Development Skills 

This qualification will support learners to become confident individuals who are physically, emotionally and socially healthy, be responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society and embrace change and managing risk together with their own wellbeing. It also allows learners to develop knowledge in areas around study, mathematics, literacy and science. The qualification has been designed to support learners to build on their knowledge and skills. Learners may progress to higher level qualifications or into employment.

AIM Qualifications: Entry 1 Certificate in Mathematics

AIM Qualifications Entry Level 1 Certificate in Mathematics

This qualification has been designed to provide learners with underpinning skills in basic mathematics. Through a careful selection of relevant units, learners will be able to prepare for Functional Skills qualifications at the relevant level, whilst developing maths skills that are essential for life and work.

AQA Unit Award Scheme

AQA Unit Award Scheme

The Unit Award Scheme (UAS) is a unique recording of an achievement scheme, rather than a qualification.  It offers learners the opportunity to have their achievements formally recognised with a certificate each time a short unit of learning is successfully completed.

Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award Scheme

Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

The DofE is designed to challenge young people between the ages of 14-24 to attain standards of achievement and endeavour in a wide variety of active interests – to serve their communities, experience adventure and to develop and learn outside the classroom.

Impact 

The aspiration for almost all year-14 young people at the end of their time at Rosehill, is that they will have:

• Followed a qualification route that is individualised to their needs
• Shown mastery of their knowledge taught throughout the Rosehill School curriculum, by applying their knowledge to their independent skills and work-related learning.
• Have at least nine AQA unit accredited awards at pre-entry level or above (wide range of curriculum units)

For some of our young people:

• Have an AIM entry level award or certificate in Personal development
• Have an award, certificate or a diploma in Personal Development and Employability skills (PDE) from the Prince’s Trust
• Gained Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh Award

For a few young people:

• Have a higher-level qualification which is bespoke to that young person and requires separate intervention
