I had the pleasure of meeting Joanne Ritchie this morning. She talked me through Rosehill's curriculum intent, implementation and impact. I was given a clear sense of how children and student's progress through the curriculum and make gains over time. I was particularly fascinated by the written/photographic evidence the school gathers to track and monitor practice and engagement. As ever, I didn't go home empty handed and found the time spent with Joanne was purposeful and totally engaging. Again, thank you Rosehill for your generosity. Joanne, you are a star.

 

Here to Help Fayre - 23rd May 2023

Very good information  that was very helpful and easy to understand. Very polite staff. The open choir was beautiful, the songs were amazing and all of the students in the choir sang very well.

An informative day at the Here to Help Fayre. I attended the Sensory Regulation workshop, and the Communication with Pictures one. Both gave me ideas to take back to school. The pupils selling products were so polite and communicative. Great job!

Very helpful fayre. Met lots of parents and workers, and gave out lots of information. Bought a great keyring and chocolates from your pupils. They were very polite and sold their items very nicely.

A fabulous day. So glad to be a part of this day, and hope to continue a great relationship.

Lovely time at the fayre - the talk from the OT's was really interesting and had useful practical strategies. So lovely to see pupils grown up and engaging with me after many years. (Ex-employee)

It was lovely to meet so many students and parents, and the choir was amazing. It is great to see how many services are around to support and find out more about them.

 

Woodlands Academy - 22nd May 2023

A massive thank you for the warm welcome. We were able to observe classes across the whole school, and join in with a sensory story. It was a very insightful visit and we look forward to working together in the future.

 

NTU Data Engagement Visit - 18th May 2023

NTU & NCC visit for collecting some data on engagement with students. Very useful and helpful visit. Staff and students were polite and participated with our research.

 

Black History Workshops - 4th May 2023

Thank you everyone that made the workshops I did, and the final interactive work so great. It was really good to work with pupils and staff to record voices and sounds for the interactive work to go with the Black History Month artwork.

 

Woodley School - 3rd May 2023

We're visiting schools across the country at the moment looking at both building designs and quality of education. I was very impressed with the learning environment at Rosehill - it is well planned and welcoming for student needs. I especially liked your thoughtful ethos. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, we learnt lots from you.

We came from Kirklees Council to see an example of an ASD school building. What fantastic staff and pupils. Thank you so much for our warm welcome and your time.

I wanted to say a big thank you for your warm reception when we visited. We were particularly interested in seeing the design of your building alongside understanding what worked well and what you'd change on hindsight. We came away with a really good sense of this, given the invaluable input from you, your staff and your pupils. The enthusiasm and passion is fantastic.

My visit has given me an insight into positive teaching practices and strategies. It was fantastic to see the brilliant work Rosehill School in Nottingham are doing to educate and support children and young people with SEN. Rosehill uplifts the voices of those with SEN and their families, and it is invaluable to the City of Nottingham. We saw first hand the hard work that staff put in to nurturing and encouraging their pupils.

 

SCITT Training - 8th March 2023

Most informative session I have had about autism in all the training i've ever done!

I really found it fascinating and feel every student and teacher should come here and listen (in Notts). Thank you, what an incredible school!

Learning from someone with so much knowledge and seeing the passion regarding everyone having more knowledge in autism is wonderful.

I attended your school as part of the SCITT training and I just wanted to say thank you! It was very interesting and informative, and gave me lots of practical ideas and solutions that I will be certain to try. Every member of staff I saw (office and walking round school) had a big smile on their face - lovely atmosphere.

It seems my child has changed a lot for the better, I like it very much, I like the school and staff too.

I have enjoyed coming here to see how they spend the day. It was quite eye-opening, and I can see why my child enjoys coming to school. It is exciting.

It's nice to see the classroom and talk face to face with the teachers. It was lovely to know and see how well my child is getting on with their writing, which I never knew they could.
