Caring About Learning, Learning About Caring

  • Assessment & Pupil Progress

At Rosehill School, we use Progression Pathways (an Assessment System which is bespoke to our school) to record evidence of progress, set targets and to share goals achieved.

This system has been implemented as our pupils do not meet the National Curriculum levels for GCSEs, English Baccalaureate (EBacc), Progress 8 scores and Multiplication Tables Check at KS4. Pre-key stage standards are used for our Year 6 pupils who are working below the overall standard of National Curriculum assessments, but who are engaged in subject-specific study. We have developed our own Pathway Curriculum to sit alongside the EHCP outcomes and 10 Strands already embedded within the Rosehill School’s assessment system.

At Rosehill School, we have ensured that we understand the destination of our learners once they have left the school. During their final year at Rosehill School, we work with Futures, local colleges and employment providers (Careers Curriculum) to provide continuous support to our young people and their families.  This data has been kept year-on-year, and we have, over the last 5 years, ensured our young people have been placed into further education with local colleges, day services or residential care within the Nottingham/Nottinghamshire area.
