All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals. Some pupils may also be eligible for Free School Meals, which can provide additional funding to support their education.

At Rosehill School, the health, safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and visitors is a priority. We recognise that some members of our school community have allergies and medical dietary requirements, and we work hard to ensure they can access school life safely and fully.
Pupils with allergies or dietary needs have appropriate care plans in place, which are shared with relevant staff. We also have systems to ensure catering and lunchtime staff are aware of any dietary requirements and can support pupils safely.
Rosehill School is a nut-aware school. We ask all families to support us by being mindful of the food sent into school and avoiding products containing nuts wherever possible.
Staff receive regular training in allergy awareness and emergency procedures, including the use of adrenaline auto-injectors (EpiPens), where appropriate.

The kids with food allergies site has some great information too. Click here.
Natasha's Law was introduced to improve food safety for people with allergies. The law requires food businesses to clearly label pre-packed food with full ingredient and allergen information, helping people make informed and safe choices about the food they eat.
We encourage parents and carers to inform the school immediately of any changes to their child's allergies, dietary requirements or medical needs so that we can continue to provide appropriate support.
If you have any questions about allergies or dietary requirements, please contact the school office or speak to a member of the safeguarding or medical team.
Please read the leaflet below for more information.

Most classes have a mid-morning snack break, where pupils are offered a drink and a healthy snack.
We participate in the School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme, which provides a free piece of fruit or vegetable each day for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
We recognise that some pupils may have specific dietary, sensory or medical needs, and we work closely with families to ensure appropriate snacks and refreshments are available where needed. Please inform the school of any allergies, dietary requirements

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school milk, which is offered during morning snack time.
Milk provides important nutrients, including calcium and protein, which support healthy growth and help maintain strong bones and teeth. It also provides a healthy drink option during the school day and helps pupils stay refreshed and ready to learn.
If your child has any dietary requirements, allergies or preferences relating to milk, please inform the school office so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
