End of year message from the Head

Dear All

A big thank to you all for your continued support and encouragement of all our young people at Rosehill School. I feel very privileged and proud to be working alongside some very special and talented individuals (young people, parents and staff team). As such, I am committed to secure the very best possible outcomes and successes in all that we do.

Since starting the school earlier this year, I have been impressed with the dedication of staff and the support of our parents and local partners in driving achievements and successes forwards. Some examples include, the DfE, school camps, Achieving the Arts Mark Gold, Summer Fayre, Leavers Party, 2015 Sports Day event, Attendance Awards, links with local charity organisations to name just a few.

Plans to embrace as well as develop opportunities for our young people are very high on my agenda. These include, an extended curriculum (offering wider options across the school day), further links with local employers and charities (to increase work placements and social enterprise), working in partnership with other local education providers (to extend programmes and inclusion opportunities), and project work, research and presenting to a wider audience (to enable others understand and value the qualities and strengths of our young people).

There will be further developments to the curriculum taking place in the Autumn term which, we will keep you updated on a regular basis. Timetables, Welcome back letters and Topic Webs will be sent early in the Autumn term by class teams.

Unfortunately, we say goodbye to staff members, Dominic Townsend, Wreh-Asha Walton, Tom Brown and Katie Tomlinson who will be leaving us this term and Congratulations to Claire Brockley on the safe arrival of her baby girl.

A warm welcome back to Louise Moran and Sian Penney (from maternity leave) and to Sophia Basheer from her extended travel leave.

To all the young people who are leaving Rosehill School this year, I wish you all the very best for a happy and healthy future. Please do keep in touch and come and visit at any time.

We are currently reviewing some procedures of the school and will keep you informed where these will affect young people and families. Please do check our website as it is regularly updated with the latest information from the School.

All the very best to you all and have a lovely summer break.
